East Valley CHARLEE

Children Have All Rights:  Legal, Education, Emotional

Our Story:

East Valley CHARLEE began in 1982 with a simple but powerful mission: to provide immediate, intensive short-term residential mental health services to at-risk youth. From the very beginning, we believed that every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and safe—especially during their most difficult times.

Today, we operate two homes, each welcoming up to six boys between the ages of 8 and 17. These homes aren’t just facilities—they’re places where young people can start fresh, surrounded by adults who genuinely care. We’ve created a family-style atmosphere where trust is built, routines bring comfort, and healing becomes possible.

Our team uses a trauma-informed approach to provide both individual and group therapy, always meeting each child where they are. We also offer a well-rounded socialization program, designed to help youth grow emotionally, socially, and mentally—all under the constant care of our compassionate clinical and direct care staff, available 24/7.

For over 40 years, we’ve stood by our belief that with the right support, kids can overcome even the toughest challenges. That belief is at the heart of everything we do.

What We Do:

East Valley CHARLEE is dedicated to providing compassionate, trauma-informed care to at-risk youth and their families. As a Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP), we create a safe, nurturing environment that supports emotional healing, personal growth, and long-term stability.

Our multidisciplinary team—made up of mental health professionals, social workers, and direct care staff—works collaboratively to help each youth develop the skills they need to navigate life’s challenges. Through individualized treatment plans, evidence-based interventions, and culturally inclusive practices, we empower our clients to build resilience, strengthen relationships, and move toward brighter futures.

At the heart of our work is a powerful vision: to partner with the community to serve and celebrate at-risk youth with impactful, quality services—and to empower them, and their families, toward long-term emotional stability. East Valley CHARLEE strives to be a guiding force for mental health services in the state of California, setting a standard of care rooted in empathy, integrity, and hope.

We believe in the transformative power of community, inclusivity, and unwavering support to help every individual realize their full potential.

East Valley CHARLEE, Inc., is a non-profit, 501(c)(3); our organization serves the needs of abused, abandoned, and neglected young men.  Our service location is Yucaipa, California.  The administrative office is located in Redlands, California.  CHARLEE is an acronym for Children Have All Rights: Legal, Educational, and Emotional.
